So, there's Passive Aggressive behavior, but what about Aggressive Pacifism? The latter may look like someone who does anything possible to maintain civility, up to and including absolutely refusing to engage or do anything that might result in confrontation. This may include someone saying whatever s/he thinks you want to hear, regardless of what s/he may want or believe...or ultimately does.

'Cept doing what's desired when it's the opposite of (or otherwise in conflict with) what's said can end up back-firing, although surprisingly enough not necessarily as often as one might expect. Words often seem to matter so much more than (in)action, 'specially when you've got two (or more) folks who both/all want to avoid conflict. *sigh*

Sidenote: not all conflict is (or requires) drama.

Cryptic, perhaps, but mainly just trying to suss out some feelings/thoughts I've started having/realizing lately. More spontaneous than reflective, 'cept insofar as the act of spontaneous writing is in and of itself active reflection. Yeah, mebbe I do think way too much sometimes... ;-P

Mini-Rant & Major Ramble Ahead...You Have Been Warned )

EDIT: One of the best things 'bout today was getting my final x-mas present: a gorgeous flowing knee-length black velvet (rubs both ways) cape handmade by my dear friend's mom. Yay!

Mini-epiphany (tm) hit whilst driving home fairly exhaustedly this eve. Can't articulate it clearly now/yet. But in the hopes that writing'll help the processing, here goes )

Time's doing its slippery fish imitation yet again. Managed to get loads and loads done then relax heavily w/a vanilla-scented bubbley bath and the rest of a good book (Trader) w/in approximately seven (7) hours which felt like...okay, guess it felt 'bout that long after all. But it still feels like I've accomplished more today than I have any other day lately. Guess it makes sense as lately I've been in serious relaxation mode. Hmm, then again, accomplishments needn't be all external (ticking things off To Do lists). Internal putting things into order, maintaining connections, strengthening bonds: all this counts as getting things & stuff done, only I usually tend to give it short shrift - or at least figure others do even if'n I'm cool w/it.

Composing / conducting in my head. I’m not so much creating my life as conducting it. It’s more like free form jazz: wandering off in different directions, often swerving back to where I was before (perhaps where I am / who I am deep within myself). I’m not always convinced there is such a central/core place or person. But I’ve come not to worry about it. I’ve found enough of myself and figured out how it works, how it all meshes together, how to get it to do what I tell it (myself) to do, to believe that I can always get by, howsoever it may happen.

I find myself appreciating more and more these days the love, respect, and acceptance my family offers and provides. Trying to pass this along to those dear to me. To repeat one of my fave lines of late: “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” - Edith Wharton

Life as interlocking puzzle pieces w/different configurations possible. Emtention. Shoppertainment. This last one's the name of a street down beyond the Orange Curtain. Reading the sign added a measure of oddness to an already somewhat odd time. Delightfully odd, mind you, but odd nonetheless.

It happened. It was. Now it'd nearly done. Tomorrow'll be another one. Drifting like a feather. Floating. Gusts move it higher, but gravity's kicking back in for a while.
