Back from a quick coastal getaway (Seaside, OR) before the holiday madness goes up to 11. Went walkies along various trails in Oswald West State Park to Short Sands Beach on the sunny day. Did 95% of my Xmas cards on the rainy day. It's close enough to home that even after sleeping in some this morning and visiting a couple of my fave haunts, I still got back in time to take care of some necessary stuff, do some holiday planning, and organize & upload my photos. PDX continues officially Too Hot. Yesterday I snagged my houseguest to Go Coastal together. Bliss!

It was fun, and pretty, too.

Got plenty of good stuff done this morning (housework - including lotsa laundry, admin/org stuff, phone calls, &c.) before getting a call from [livejournal.com profile] delerium3, who arrived shortly thereafter. She had the fine idea of going coastal, mainly b'c DLand aka the MouseHouse is just too far away (being as 'tis way down in the next state 'n' all ;-)

'Twas a fine aft/eve featuring fauna/wildlife viewing (highlight: an albino elk), ditto flora/glorious swampfuls of skunk cabbage, climbing the Astoria Column, checking out great art, eating numbly seafood, visiting the skeletal wreck of the Peter Iredale, listening to good musics, howling at the Full Moon, andandand

Pics to come. Now though, I must make my bed and crawl into it... *YAWNING & SMILING*

Okay, one pic for now:

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' / Keep them doggies rollin'...

Got the ball rolling today (Big Push). Had lunch w/[livejournal.com profile] jaylake & LC, then decided to go coastal. Heeding [livejournal.com profile] jaylake's sage advice, I visited Ecola State Park - both the viewpoint and Indian Beach. 'Twas superbly lovely and just what the doctor ordered. Roamed around some, sat and watched the surf crash for a spell, admired a lone surfer's tenacity, saw a bald eagle at sunset, had a fine time. Once 'twas dark, I grabbed a bite to eat, then headed home again. Now I get to sleep in my own bed and continue w/good zoominess o'morrow.
