So, I finished up All the Studying earlier today and'll take o'morrow off (mostly, prolly). Phew!

Now'm blasting Handel's Messiah as per tradition...on the laptop. It's been years since I've had the responsibility of turning over the stack of records on the spindle to get to the second half, but oh, I remember so well how good it felt to reach the age when I was finally allowed to do so.

Fambily. Connections. Togetherness. This is so worthwhile, happy-making...this is WHY...

EDIT: Sapphire Hotel was closed. We drove around various spots 'n' finally ended up at Nick's Coney Island. Decent food, but too many/much TV noise. Had a fine evening anyway though :-)

Wow. I do so lurv this time o' year. Halloween 'n' pumpkins 'n' trick-or-treaters 'n' costumes. Then fambily 'n' food 'n' reconnecting over Thanksgiving. Now getting ready for x-mas w/the scent of fresh fir, cinnamon, eggnog 'n' brandy, more marvelous food, the sounds of x-mas music (recorded and soon, LIVE), seeing friends, lotsa smiles, breaking bread, burning candles, laying in front of fires watching the flames dance (I don't have a fireplace and'd love to do this somewhere), drawing together as the days shorten, singing "Here Comes the Sun" to beckon back the longer days, remembering the past, celebrating the present, creating traditions, being together, looking forward to the new year, andandand So very happy-making!

After slogging away at mind-mushingly Daunting But Doable chores this afternoon 'n' evening, I rewarded myself by walking over to the corner lot, choosing my tree, and carrying it back home to the Hive. This pleases me oh-so-much! Accompanied by holiday music (not just x-mas), I then decorated the Hive.

I want to have folks over for eggnog 'n' cookies 'n' putting on the silly elf-hat 'n' mebbe watching A Christmas Story and/or any other films you traditionally watch this month. Do tell if'n you're interested and we'll work on making it happen.

Off to drive from CopperMoon to the Hive in approx 10 minutes, stopping off at the Orphanage for an Injun chow & read-aloud chai-party along the way. Dunno if'n I'll make it to the Pagan Jug Band this evening, although the rumor of a visit from the oh-so-busy Solstice Fairy might get me out. O'morrow's for last minute shopping, packing, helping a friend assemble furniture, and writing up a cat/Hive-sitting info sheet. Then on 12/24 I fly to SJC, get driven up to Berkeley by my l'il bro for x-mas #1 chez Mal 'n' Al and assorted fambily, thence back to San Jose for x-mas #2 on 12/25 chez Mom & J (again w/assorted fambily & friends), thence back up to El Cerrito for x-mas #3 w/

1annie1 & her fambily on Boxing Day (12/26). Somehow I'll then make it back down to SJC to fly back Northward to PDX on 12/27. Yeah, I'm regretting not keeping my double-flight reservations 'til the very last minute. Next time I'll keep my schedule more flexible.
