Yesterday was delightful. Today was most certainly NOT. At least the last three (3) sessions (2 - 1 hour ones and 1 - 2 hour one) were held in a room w/a gorgeous view of the ocean (and eventually the sunset). I fit in well enough...whether I want to is another matter altogether. Ran into one person who looked familiar. Turns out he graduated from Loyola a year before me and we worked together on ILJ so we spent a fair amount of time in the same room and must've interacted somewhat way back when (1992-1993). Heard one guy drone on 'bout unintelligible stuff of no interest to me whatsoever (e.g.,corporate tax law specifics), a couple of mildly amusing guys from different perspectives (Lender's atty and Borrower's atty) discuss mostly unintelligible stuff 'bout commercial property financing, a former State Bar Judge go off on ways of messing up big-time as an atty (ethics issues which ain't gonna affect me in the slightest), and the Sta Monica City Atty give an interesting clear cogent description of and explanation for the Brown Act (California's "Sunshine Law" designed to promote open legislature and promote democracy). This last one was quite good. I even missed the sunset by listening to her rather than turning my head and doing more than glancing now and again out the window at the sand and sea.

O'morrow: more Real Estate/Property stuff (hopefully more relevant to my life), BK stuff (hopefully never relevant to my life, but it's useful to know just in case), and Superhero Internet Fact-Finding Strategies (which hopefully won't be restricted to Lexis/Nexis to which I no longer have access). At least afterwards I can go and help rack the mead from 2004's Middle-earth Fellowship Yule Celebration.
