I've been up here at CopperMoon since Th, 4/2/09. Heading back Southward to the Hive (via a drive-by to see the lovely Vorpal-C aka [livejournal.com profile] vismaya_viewer) in a bit, once I finish icing my neck, loading up the car, and grabbing a bite for b-fast. Am mostly (85-95%) better.

It's been lovely up here. We even snuck in a trip further East in WA than I'd ever been before yesterday when the amazing [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote drove me and [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi over/through the Cascades and back. 'Twas SNOWING like mad so we stopped for a snowball fight and snow-tower creation and destruction (well, I did the latter to their building of the former...hey, I channeled Godzilla briefly). We enjoyed Leavenworth and some nice young women in silly home-made bunny ears who passed out Easter eggies which we passed along to others ourselves. Walkies along the river was quite pleasant, as was eating numbly German food, but the highlight was the first CopperMoon Guerrilla Theater production: The Constipation of Jesus Balboa, which scheme we hatched whilst lunching across the street from the park w/the public restrooms in a cave beneath the street near the bandstand. Imagine if you will, ALF emerging from his cave, removing his shroud...then scampering up the steps and doing the victory arm-pumping ala Rocky. Yes, there is video. Yes, people were watching and there was some laughter. Yes, we got outta town pretty quickly after that. Although we had indeed had good interaction w/the mayor of L earlier in the day, we didn't wanna push things too far...

Oh, yeah, we also decorated eggies, including this Very Silly One (scroll down).

Hokay, this is the Troubadour Theater Company's next production, a melange of classic Shakespeare w/much pop music/culture references, physical humour, and a smattering of improv. Based on the others I've seen, it's gonna be grand! Previews run from August 3 to August 6, 2006, then it opens in earnest and goes from August 9 to September 17, 2006. Times: Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 4pm. Location: Miles Playhouse, Santa Monica, California, USA. More info available at: http://www.troubie.org/public/

Normally I'd organize an outing...but I dunno where I'm likely to be so will wait another few months. But you had to know 'cause it really shouldn't be missed! What I've Seen )

SO happy I stumbled upon the listing for Josh Korbluth's Ben Franklin: Unplugged at the Rubicon Theatre up in Ventura and made the trip today, as 'twas quite worthwhile: amusing, educational, damn fine monologuing (sp) followed by good Indian chow and wandering Main Street as the twilight dwindled and preceded by a lovely afternoon drive up PCH. For a small(ish) town, Ventura's managed to amass a fine selection of head shops and fancy high quality lingerie along w/numerous thrift and antique stores, bookstores, and restaurants.

And the upcoming weekplus looks fab! Life's sweet.
