If'n I'm a stress-monkey 'bout something, I'll assume the worst 'bout stuff utterly unrelated to the stress-factor. Once the stress has passed (such as when I've accomplished whatever 'twas), my outlook and view change completely and I no longer assume the worst but instead revert to my more typical cheery up positive attitude 'bout stuff 'n' things. Interesting, this. Not quite sure how to deal w/it, because avoiding all stress just ain't possible. Luckily I ain't stressed one whit now.

Glad to hear that you're stress-free at the mo'. Interesting insight into your brain. Thanks for sharing.

Loving you and looking forward to seeing you next month...cause it may as well be March by now, right?

This is a truth that I think is True for ALL beings... even animals in dire circumstances will assume the worst untill they recover from the stress of the current situation!

I would think they key would be to tell folks you're feeling stressed or there's a problem, so they can say to themselves 'well, so-and-so is going through some stuff right now, maybe he/she doesn't mean that...' if you over-react. Also telling them when you feel that over-reaction would probably be ideal- but I know I don't think to do it. :(

Heh, yeah - the trick is in realizing when/that I'm over-stressed. Hmm, mebbe I'll try to turn this on it's head. If'n I'm stressed about something that I know from past experience is a Red Button issue (such as what triggered this post), then mebbe I'll add in a step of Considering Whassup 'Bout Which I'm Stressed...and communicate whassup (if'n I cannot just hold it together and not react based on stressors).

Thx for good brain fodder 'n' thinkie-thoughtie insights. May we both/each learn from 'em... :-)

yeah, the same happens with me. I get these brief periods in my life when it seems as if I'm wearing the Shitty GlassesĀ®. During those times, I am CONVINCED that something's awry, and in the past, I've gone to great lengths to figure out what's wrong, who's screwing with me, or where something's breaking down.

Eventually, Katrina gently taught me that in those fugue states, it has NOTHING to do with those things around me, but it's all a bubble in MY brain.

Elise and Paige are now starting to be able to recognize that state as well, which is very good, because it helps me TREMENDOUSLY, and keeps those periods short (maybe half a day every month or so).

It's normal, I think.

It's okay.

It'll pass.

It always passes.

You're still loved.

You ain't alone. Nopers!

I expect you'll see us again real soon. I have to admit I'm a little... social-shocked after my party, though. Whuff!
