Being Open

mlerulesI'm open here. Whispering into a void more often than not these days though. I know what I'd like, but if'n I don't get it, I must make do without. Or search elsewhere for't. Or figure out another way of getting it.
Today was really good: morning walkies, trad'l brunch w/the usual suspects, running an errand efficiently - and w/free parking, good kittenhead love, making good soup from scratch and then making another batch of chicken stock for the freezer, cleaning up the kitchen before turning in for the night, finishing off season 3 of Dexter, chatting on the phone w/a love, pulling out the x-mas wrapping paper and wrapping up x-mas presents, nibbling on maple sugar candy w/torn wrapper from price-tag scraping-off incident, crossing stuff off the list, getting ready for a Toad Rip to the Bay Area to visit w/friends and fambily.
X-mas gifts and paper's spread about the Hive's living & dining rooms and I've got a smile on my face and a full heart. I lurv this time o' year and'm thrilled that I'll be celebrating the year's end and welcoming back the sun w/Dear Friends & fambily up her in the PacNW. Not everything's perfect - I want more/deeper/richer/closer connections and friends here in Portland as well as more involvement in things that matter to me locally - but things're quite good, nonetheless. Meanwhile, I'm making progress w/what I want more of here.
