Road Trippage
Jan. 23rd, 2005 11:21 amI DO so like road trips...and it's SUCH a pleasure when someone else drives for a change. There was much laugher and a modicum of singing, followed by toasting and meeting and good food and good friends and more toasting. An evening expedition took us to one possible site where one brave (foolish?) soul braved the flood waters to actually see the place (water level should be lower by summertime). Afterwords we partook of the pleasures at Cold Springs Tavern, this neat olde log cabinesque bar that's been around on the olde Wells Fargo Wagon Train Route sincen 1886. We made several toasts to Flush Toilets. Guess you had to be there. (Background: imagine planning a small-scale RenFaire-type event and realizing that it's possible for the first time EVER - this is the 27th annual - that we'll have have flush toilets rather than privies (or worse).) Home again now after an early morning b-fast in Solvang. Soon must visit Ticketmaster on-line to snag some Elvis Costello tix (3/26/05 @ Wiltern). Been far too long since I've been to show, so this'll be fun. (Also heading to SD on Wed, 3/23 for the concert there...Spring Break's well timed this year.) Life be good. Off for games and a flim in a bit...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
