Visitations

I've apparently successfully shifted back from Night Owl to Early Bird. Was up early this morning w/the helicopters. Okay, just one, but 'twas a real deja vu "what, I'm back in SoCal?!" moment w/all the sirens and the whirly-bird up overhead. Searching Portland news on-line eventually revealed only one story which seems like it might be relevant: Police Investigate Shooting, but it's not clear that that's what was up (and given where the 'copter flew, it seems possible, but not necessarily related).

Anyway, I'm up and've nearly finished watering my garden. Just need to hydrate the tomatoes (which're fruiting quite nicely now, excitingly enough!), stick a load of wash in the machine, then shift up to LJ-free L's house to water her front & back yards. Today's forecast as a scorcher (90). Luckily it cooled down last night so the house's quite nice. I'll seal it up tight at some point this morning and it'll stay cool 'til sometime this afternoon.

Off in a few hours to fetch vismayaviewer from Union Station for a quick visit (24 hours). She'll carpool Northward w/me o'morrow. I'll drop her off at home then meet lightfoote for r-ball followed by dinner w/him and wildwoosi and her sister who's in town. It'll be good to see her as she was the one close fambily-member who hadn't made it up/out for wildwoosi dughter & son-in-law's visit from Finland (w/US wedding reception).



On Thursday, lightfoote & I will cruise back down to Portland again for a date weekend. We'll snag poeticlioness on the way for more carpooling fun. After a bite to eat, we'll go check out an exhibit celebrating censored art (much eroticism) by ferociousbcycad & a couple of other folks at Blue Light Under the Moonlight (NOTE: NSW!), part of the monthly Alberta Street Last Thursday Art Walk in Portland, OR. There's even on-site wine tasting hosted by Naked Winery (Hood River, OR). This is happening at:

Heh.

Did your local news stations at least say what was up? I'm baffled by the lack of on-line news, despite the fact that I saw two (2) different news vans cruise by mi casa after it'd cooled off some. I even checked their on-line breaking news bits (after noting the station from the vehicle door) but saw nada.
