Grounding/Centering
Aug. 5th, 2010 10:50 pmOkay, here're some things I do which help lots:
1. Put on music, a fine mood-swinger.
2. DO something useful 'n' worthwhile. Today I returned to the Petting Zoo to help
delerium3 w/NimGym2: The Nimnasium (Electric Boogaloo). It felt good to drill 'n' screw 'n' hold stuff down/together while she sawed 'n' assemble 'n' see it all come together well (eventually ;-)
3. Get together w/good people, 'specially outside for great live music. This evening's potluck picnic w/free drumming at the amphitheater near the rose gardens by Portland Taiko and then Lions of Bataduca was FAB. I knew several of the people from various previous get-togethers and met more.
Feeling far better and happier and myself now.
Off for another good weekend o'morrow. Life = Good.

Date: 2010-08-06 07:55 pm (UTC)I use many of the same grounding techniques. Add in a hot bath with something lovely smelling in it, a pot of good tea, and nice, spicy comfort food. Oh, and cuddles, they work every time.

Date: 2010-08-07 03:30 am (UTC)We can do something awesomely calm and drama-free.
Maybe take the puppy to the BIG dog park in north marysville... just sit on the bench there, ya know- they have three /families/ of bald eagles that you can watch fly the sky there, eaching the juviniles to hunt... amazing. The dogs love it, and it's clean and NICE!
Maybe we can just got sit somewhere quiet and calm, and I can whittle/carve a staff or wand or something. I love doing that in nice outdoor shady places... It's my favourite 'hanging out peacefully and quietly' kind of hobby. :)
