The Importance of Balance

Overall, traffic sucked badly today...but I don't care, 'cause 'twas a GRAND FUN day anyhoo! D-land's the best place to go drown/forget your sorrows and rekindle a good attitude. (Mind you, I currently have no particular sorrows, but am happy & pleased to help drown anybody else's...lemme at 'em in fact! Today/yesterday 'twas
delerium3 who had the traffic from heck nightware morning prompting the day's adventure(s). Thinking we cured the morn's hellishness w/D-town Disney's "rides" (hiccup) and the day/eve at CA Adv & D-land itself.)
Have managed to get this far into the evening w/out succumbing to exhaustion, but now I'm pooped and am heading to ZZZ land. Here's the ride breakdown. By which I mean LIST. Nothing broke down on us ('cept for traffic flows). Once again observed the 20-minute max waiting rule (if'n it's longer, we ain't riding). Fast Passes help this out tremendously! Here's what we hit ('less I'm forgetting something):
CA ADVENTURE:
California Screamin' x2 - both times in the VERY FRONT - wheeeeeeee (chatted w/some kids on one of the Soak Us Mightily rides who managed to ride this fab roller coaster NINE (9) times today, not their record, which stands at TWELVE (12) times in a single day...we have some catching up to do...ah, yes, a GOAL)
Random Bits of Shooting/Pouring Water Fountains Frequented By Only Kids and Us ('twas a warm day and this cooled us off considerably...NOTE to self: perhaps reconsider the whole black bra, white tank top, water rides concept...or not)
Big Orange Swings
Tower of Terror
Thing What Shoots You Up High In the Air Then Bounces You Back Down (but isn't the TOT)
Grizzly Flats (?) aka Soak Us Mightily (or whatever it's called - white water rafting getting you really really wet) x2 (FastPasses NOT necessary - we walked right on both times in a row 'til we got nicely soaked. What's our trick you may ask? Wait 'til it's dark and cooled off considerably. NOTE above came into play here, too.)
Soaring Over California (FastPass. Closest I'm likely to get to hang-gliding, unless I go tandem w/someone experienced and trustworthy. DAMN FINE RIDE!)
Misc. Sea Creature Merry-Go-Round
D-LAND:
Tarzan's Jungle Treehouse fka Swiss Fambily Robinson Treehouse
Pooh's Acid Trip (fast becoming a perennial short-lined fave)
Indiana Jones & Temple of Doom (FastPass)
Space Mountain (New & Improved) must wait 'til another time as Fast Passes had run out by the time we got there mid-afternoon. We found a quiet corner of CA Adv in which to collapse and relax for a time...got a tad tired of the Beach Boys' California Dreamin' in muzak repeatedly over and over and over again then some more, but eventually the soundtrack shifted. Somehow resisted the Churro urge, prolly 'cause getting 'em'd break the 20-minute max wait rule!
Torrance is out (sorry
snowkite, 'nother time) for o'morrow (later today actually), as the RenFaire thingiemabob's not 'til Wed (it's a rehearsal for Sat, Aug 6th), so it's just not on, both b'c Wed's Etta James & Buddy Guy at the Hwood Bowl (we have 1 or 2 extra tix, so shout if'n you're innarested, although we won't be able to get back to you 'til later to letcha know if'n you've won the prize as we're off road-tripping shortly) and b'c it's likely (at least possible) that the 1st w'end in August'll be spent at Faire in Novato (Marin County) w/friends up North. More Carmel/Monterey won't be amiss either.
Have I mentioned how much I like Summertime lately? Wheeeeeeeeeee! O'morrow (well, later on today, after at least a few hours of sleep) could be (EDIT: WILL BE) busy, as the #s of guys to see keeps increasing...
