1. bunny clock - Many people don't really know what to make of this when they see it. The bunny's expression's fairly enigmatic, which please me very much. It's an art-clock about 18" high and a foot wide that I fell in love with and bought at an art show benefiting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation held at the OUT Gallery on La Brea in SoCal back in January 1992. My hubby was so freaked out by the face that he refused to have it in the bedroom. Ditto my live-in boyfriend post-divorce. I've had it in my bedroom every since I've lived alone, and I still love it, although years ago I took out the battery as I cannot stand loud ticking noises, 'specially in the bedroom. I tend to use it when I'm being/feeling enigmatic myself.
2. yoda shrine - Back when
delerium3 lived w/me in Santa Monica, CA, we both had annual Disneyland passports and went all the time. One magical day she procured an awesome Yoda at (if memory serves) the same D-land store that later on carried another special friend, the Fruit Bat. (We never did figure out what Disney character it was supposed to be or whether 'twas a mis-shipment ment for the LA Zoo or what.) Clearly the only place for him to live was in a spot of honor, so he ended up on the not-an-alter, surrounded by bits and pieces of special rocks, vegetation, and other story-filled things from special/marvelous places/times.
3. w/st 1 - This icon of me &
ebony_sphynx came from a wonderful visit we took to the Huntington Gardens several years back. She took me to a spot that
executivegoth had shown her, a view from within the Japanese Gardens that looks out apparently over an exact replica of the view from another set of gardens in Japan (royal gardens in Kyoto?) and I held out the camera and snapped the picture of her menacing me. I'm pretty sure that was the day she declared she wanted to be a tree/Earth again sometime, which lead to a dear friend airbrushing us for our first Labryinth of Jareth Ball (2007) outing which led to her first Faerieworlds experience a week after that. This icon's a reminder of some of the fun and magic we've shared and created and experienced together there (and elsewhere) over the years. Even now, whenever I'm in SoCal I tend to end up at the Huntington, often w/her, for tea and wanderings and garden enjoyment.
4. mfnp - Ah, Mutants for Nuclear Power. This was an in-joke w/
ebony_sphynx. That's all I can remember 'bout it.
5. with lisa -
dritikol took this lovely shot of me 'n'
nakeygirl at Renaissance Faire (not sure whether it's Southern or Crossroads or Big Bear) several years back, when we were both criers (leading parades and spinning madly whilst ringing bells, stopping now and again to cry out current news items - all the news that's fit to shout out about). I've gone to RenFaire every year for many Many years now and it's always a ton of fun.
6. kinky boots - Well, in this case methinks the picture tells its own story, don't you agree? ;-) It's also the name of and reminiscent of a FAB flick...
