Co-housing - Jim's been dreaming of doing this for a decade, but finding an affordable adequately centralized location in LA to suit his social circle was... infeasible. I was contemplating a scaled down version just last night on my way home, prompted by the knowledge that my mom's second job is going to run out in November (corp's closing down all stores due to bankruptcy filed months ago) and her primary's been on shoestrings for ages now as well. With the economy the way it is, it's an increasingly attractive option if you've the property to modify/build/adapt for it.
They're hading out hospital masks in my office because people are complaining about the smell. It's pretty funny. I might be hiding out east of here for a while, if it continues to smell as bad outside as it currently does. The wind is blowing it all here into the west valley.
