Thx for link, [livejournal.com profile] blot. Mine's 72 - Very Walkable. This pleases me greatly as I drive a lot 'tween places so when I've back home (South/Hive), I don't wanna hafta walk at all! Howz YOUR Neighborhood's WalkScore? Heh, just checked and they rated my Santa Monica place (where I lived in CA before moving up to the PacNW) as an 83.

I am thinking about that 3 out of 100 my neighborhood got and wishing I could go walk to a coffee shop.

I wanna move.

I don't know Jeff's exact address. One street of the intersection (he is right on the corner) got an 85, another got a 91. We totally need to go for walks more often.

I just tried it and got a 71...had no idea some of those places even existed. Must check them out.

57 - somewhat walkable, but given that it only seems to take commercial options into account, which is one of my least concerns, I'm not so enthusiastic. I'm more concerned about sidewalk maintenance, bad neighborhood, terrain, etc.

Yeah, true. Actually, I think my current neighborhood's even better than they calculate given the options provided by very good public transportation.

Cell Block A got an 83, while the house in Santa Clarita got a 9. More reasons to be happy about getting out of there!

58.

But I knew that. I concur with Nomi's assessment. Weather/cover is also a concern.

bwahahaha!!! And it thinks "Barnes & Noble Booksellers The Grove at Farmers Market" is tucked back in the corner of my neighborhood.

It also falls into the common mistake of assuming the "crow flies" distance to Burbank/Glendale is a fair representation.

Ah, but I am not water soluble so don't mind walking about even in downpours (which is lucky, given the PacNW's propensity for wetness)!

I'm more concerned about frying, actually.

Mine scored 52 -- not too terribly walkable.
Better than my old MT address ... 0.

88 - Very Walkable. They aren't taking safety into consideration, though. While I have lots of stores and whatnot nearby, my area is kinda sketchy.

Ah, very good point. One of the things I like 'bout where I live is that I feel safe walking around alone at night.

My old neighborhood in Lynwood did well, and was in a terrible area bordering Compton. The restaurants that came up were little taco stands and the grocery stores were carnicerias, etc. I lived there for 10 months and did all my banking, grocery shopping and fueling up near work.
