'Twas a positive-superlative-laden w'end, a fine mixture of Nature & sociability...and a fine start to my b-day season. Fri & Sat found me, along w/the denizens of House Cerulia*, enjoying some fine beachiness out at Rocky Bay/near Gig Harbor, WA courtesy of the oh-so-nice [livejournal.com profile] ladydrakaina whom I hereby thank (again!) for sharing such a fab space/place! Saturday afternoon found us cruising out to Sidhehaven for socializing and a fab Gaia Consort house concert Sat night.

Sunday dawned and [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote pointed out something that's obvious - namely that Mt Rainier's a lot larger when viewed from Sidhehaven than from either CopperMoon or the Hive - then suggested something delightful that for some reason hadn't crossed this wanderer's mind (WTF?!): let's GO TO THE MOUNTAIN! So, he and I and [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi set forth on a delicious Spontaneous Mini-Toad Rip. This jaunt was merely a sampling. There's much more to do and see, but at least I've been there now and methinks it'll be easier getting back there then getting there in the first place. (Well, it wasn't not easy, it just hadn't happened before.) The experience in short: waterfalls & wildflowers galore, freshly-snow-dusted trees, my first marmot sighting (a whole fambily gamboling in and amongst the rocks), lovely views. Then we returned to Sidhehaven to join in the School Girl-themed fun.

Nails were painted & decorated, make-up applied, bows admired, fun had by all & sundry. [livejournal.com profile] rebelprivateer enlisted me as co-judge of the Cutest/Sexiest/Best School Girl contest (which pretty much nobody knew 'bout, including me, 'til it happened, which made it far more fun/exciting, to my mind). We cruised the party, letting it be known what we were doing, happily enjoying displays of School Girl Come Hither-ness, soaking in the hot tub to discuss matters...and further soak up sights and sounds of bows 'n' cleavage 'n' short skirts 'n' attitude...*blissful sigh*. Thanks to all who took part in making this a delightfully wonderful w'end, 'specially the Sidhehaven Clan for hosting such a fun time!

Monday was for cleaning up, saying G'Byes, and driving home to collapse into a heap, take a hot bubbly bath, and sleep. Now it's time to do laundry, mow lawns, complete BBX compilation CD, and pack for 3 weeks + 3 days away...zoooooom!

The other interesting part about Rainier from the locales of the Sidhehaven abode is that you can see the third peak from there. Up this-a-way, we only see two.

wish we had been there. Or I mean that I wish it had not been so cold and wet when we got there.

Yesterday was the last day of crabbing in seattle but I know gig harbor has crabbing open till october. Are there peirs in gig harbor?

Hmm, I dunno. We drove through Gig Harbor to get to Rocky Bay and only spent 24 hours there (w/no piers in sight), so I didn't get to see whether there were any water/pier thingies around. Methinks there were places to get stuff like that around (North/West of) the landmass we were on.

We were in prime clamming territory but since none of us really care for clams unless they're in clam chowder or smoked in tins, we skipped that activity.

And yeah, I wish I'd seen you, too. Caught 'n' hugged [livejournal.com profile] quetz very briefly during the concert when we both found ourselves in the kitchen listening to the music, but missed you 'n' B completely.

I was hanging out in the car with a grumpy cold kid.

B was scouting for camping places I think.
