The Vortex sucked us in and rather than arriving home safely at the Hive this afternoon, we're just crawling in NOW. The Oregon Vortex/House o' Mystery sign beckoned and we looked at each other and KNEW 'twas the order of the day. After that, it seemed silly to return to Hwy 5 other than via Crater Lake (were we had yet another snowball fight!) and Hwy 138 (the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway and it really truly is mega-scenic!). This whole trip has been "Of Mystery," as other than a few events (wedding in Las Vegas, hanging w/AJ in SoCal, visiting w/[livejournal.com profile] redefining_self), the rest just resulted from happenstance and being in the right place (or the wrong place so shifting) at the right time (or the wrong time which resulted in goodness nonetheless).

It felt SO good driving Home. Yeah, the entire PacNW is Home. The Hive's where most of my stuff is, but CopperMoon's where most of my loves reside, so both're home, ditto in between and all 'round, really. Off o'morrow for a long w'end at CopperMoon, and then I've got over a full week here at the Hive: BLISS, all around!

Oh, yeah, I dunno when I'll get back to reading LJ (or even if I'll ever catch up), so if'n something big's happened (any more wedding dates to add to the calendar?), please comment here to let me know - kthxbbyethudsnorezzzzzzzzzz

I didn't look at your calender before posting this comment, but there are some event announcements up at [livejournal.com profile] housecerulia, as well as one more that's not yet on [livejournal.com profile] housecerulia that is posted on A and L's journals so far.

Thx! I've already added the 8/15 to my GooCal (although I dunno whether I'll be able to make it).

Oh, I gots you a reddish rock from Manzanita Lake in Lassen Nat'l Park and a black one from the Amboy Crater. Will try to remember to bring 'em up to CopperMoon this w'end for you...

Oh, I really love route 138. Definitely one of my faves if not my all time favs. All the waterfalls off of it, the Steamboat Inn, the salmon pool off of steamboat creek (they gather in this clear pool till the winter rains come and they can go further upstream, so you see like 500 salmon just hanging in this pool in the fall. it is amazing), the hot springs just past tokeekee? falls, etc, etc.... Probably one of my favorite places in the continental US after perhaps Yellowstone.

I Do Like AAA Dotted Roads...

Ooooh, hot springs - we didn't know 'bout those. We went to one waterfall (Clearwater?) - gorgeous but buggy. Want to do more exploring 'round there!
