Rec'd the sweetest compliment today: the glue that holds a Dear Friend's world together = Postcards from Me. I really needed to hear this right now so'm quite thankful to hear this. Thankful really for so many wonderful people in my life who reach out to/for me and who I know're there for me were I to but ask. Of course I'd need to work on my grammar some first...

My least fave part Spring Cleaning is dusting. Well, here goes. Time to crank the tunes and get back to it. Yes. I'm doing it. It's a true test of...something: patience, acceptance of annoyance, dunno what really. It works best when I multi-task and have other things going on simiutaneously, such as listening to music, figuring out the best songs, those that'll go onto one of the next Toad Rip compilations, stopping to stand on the porch happily watching the HAIL...loving the moodiness of the weather, shifting throughout the day from dim gray to bright gray to sunny and even golden and back again and forth and so on and so forth...matches my ever-changing moods well (which is chicken, which is egg?).

Okay, that was easy and quick. Now I'm ready and raring to go out and get away once again. But what I feel I must do is get/be comfie here, too. It's happening. Realization: culture-shock hits when I switch 'tween country/outside and city. It takes a few days to settle back into the swing of things. THIS is why I need more time here - longer chunks of time. (It helps me to understand WHY, thus the attention paid.)

Having soundtracks help merge the chunks of time, making them more seamless while also creating memories for future reference. Right now I'm listening to several versions of the same few TSC songs, trying to pick out the best for the mood. And dusting... ;-)

"My least fave part Spring Cleaning is dusting."

Agreed! Mostly because I have so many knick-nack-y type things that I'd have to take off counters, desks, shelves, whatever to dust. And well, it makes me sneeze and feel dirty.

But for some reason scrubbing floors doesn't... Which is what I've got to get back to doing right now...

And listening to music, high speed, up beat, either bluegrass or some sort of folky type with lots o' interesting instruments and/or easy vocals... That's the sort I have to have when I'm cleaning. I think today's choice is Blues Traveler. Okay, done procrastinating. Back to cleaning. :)

Hey, I've got an idea: let's swap Spring Cleaning compilations. You burn me a fave selection and I'll do the same for you. Interested? (No worries if'n this seems like too much trouble - no obligation, no pressure, just a thought.)

Glad to know others're doing this today. It makes it easier for me somehow knowing I'm not the only one.

Oooh. Definitely! I'll get to that sometime this week.

Yes, I had no plans this weekend, so helping the boy clean the apartment seemed like a good idea. Especially because I find my state of mind/being is greatly affected by dirt/clutter around me. And well, that pine/clean scent is nice too.

Die bunnies, die.

First I'm luring them into a false sense of security, putting out food for 'em even (in the form of cat-toys, slippers, &c.), THEN I'll sweep 'em all up (oh, their piercing cries...I feel so bad...no, truth be told I'm thrilled to shift 'em from the house out into the wild blue yonder: I shall FREE the dust bunnies...is there a No Kill dust bunny shelter around where somebody'll knit stuff outta them?)

I'm having a fine evening. Wish you were to here for tea and talkies!

Dryer lint and cat hair can be used to make paper so I'm sure there's something that dust could become, cradle to cradle style.

Tea and talkies with you while freeing bunnies sounds like a fine evening indeed. Perhaps a rain check for a future extended stay at the home hive. *hugs*

Hereby issued: One (1) Raincheck for Tea & Talkies at the Hive, redeemable when we make time. Quite possibly renewable...

Dryer lint and cat hair can be used to make paper - YOU'RE JOKING, RIGHT? 'Cause if not, I NEED to do this!

Not joking. True tale. They used to do it at faire with paper and dryer lint, if I remember correctly. If you sort your drier lint by color, you can control what color the paper is. Throwing old bills/financial docs in a blender with some water is also a good base.

Cool! Methinks I've got some olde bills/financial docs in your garage, unless they've been burnt already. Mebbe a paper-making session's in order in June...

[livejournal.com profile] magickalmom could probably be talked into another paper-making day, bringing all her lovely paper-making knowledge and toys. It's a fun process, making my heart happy that I can take recycling and make it into pretty paper. So cool. :o)

Oh, good. Thx! I've got plenty of drier lint and cat fur here to make reams of paper anyway. :-)
