In general I frown upon compartmentalization. In certain circumstances, however, it does seem better to focus on the here 'n' now and ignore the problems/issues elsewhere. This follows my dictum of If You Can't (or Won't) DO Something About It, Don't Worry About It. Without going into details 'bout the annoyances, suffice it to say (long story short) that I expect a plumber to arrive around 10am to fix issues that began a freaking MONTH ago. I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.

Re: C-zation - I've been purposefully and mindfully NOT worrying - okay, not being massively exasperated - about this mostly recently, even as I've been urging resolution of the problem from afar.

Yeah... I try to do that too- sometimes you just have to go on with life.

Right now, I have TONS of freakout-level worries... but I'm trying hard to just understand that they will or will not resolve, and at this exact moment, there is nothing I can DO about them.

Worrying won't make the van run. it won't pay the rent on time. it won't fly me to the feed store and to the horse, and back home again.

Working on ways to resolve those things=GOOD... laying in bed and fretting... not so good.

Precisely! Best wishes keeping the worry-levels low whilst working on the getting stuff resolved. On this end, the plumber's downstairs right now, making noises and banging things and hopefully fixing things. It'd be nice to do laundry again w/out having to wear my Wellies and slosh through puddles.

And this makes SO much sense. What I must watch for and guard against is my tendency to fantasize, to imagine possibilities and experience my reactions in hopes of (or is this merely rationalizing?) better dealing w/such situations were they to arise. And yeah, not talking so much 'bout plumbing here...

"If You Can't (or Won't) DO Something About It, Don't Worry About It."

Can I quote this?
