aka Mini-Epiphany :I've realized once again that I am a social beastie. I like people. I need people. I truly enjoying having people over and bonding over music, thoughts, ideas, movies, people, places, and things, concepts, creations, and other stuff. This makes me happy. I like being happy.

My life's enchanted or blessed or blissed or something along such lines. I appreciate and enjoy life and all it offers. Join me if you like. I'd like that.

Soon the days'll be getting longer again. Days like tides shift. There's so much to say and I just don't have the words. My soul hums, sings, echoes, rings. To flit, to float...these all appeal.

Been wondering about the phrase "the world is my oyster." Why compare one's world to a mollusk? What sort of creature am I?

Way back when, a friend - now an ex-friend, a strange concept but it fits as I've got a strict No Drama clause, ran the numbers/cards and told me of my animal spirit guides, which I then wrote in my paper journal (pre-LJ) and transferred to each new paper journal (since 2000 I've kept about a foot-wide collection of 'em...they'd be longer but now I use LJ in lieu of the Paper Journal most of the time...yeah, I really SHOULD print and bind 'em so they dont' disappear). Of late I've neglected this habit. So now I shall go into the box in the closet and find it (the most recent listing the spirit guides and their cardinal(ish) directions) and note 'em here:

*stops to search*

Eagle - East

Coyote - South

Grouse - West

Hummingbird - North

Armadillo - Above

Rabbit - Below

Wolf - Within

Yup. I've found detailed notes on what this all means, too, but I ain't gonna type 'em up here and now.

Soon: sleep. After than: get on getting on.

Life = sweet.

Yeah, the oyster reference is lost on me too; I prefer, 'the world is my buffet'. I agree, ex-friends does seem an odd concept but as I also have a strict 'no drama' policy, sometimes it happens, 'cause that's not how we roll. ;o)

*chuckle* [livejournal.com profile] songwind and I were just talking about the people person concept on the way home last night. Because I'm fairly introverted these days ( didn't used to be). But I *need* people. I said that I think I'm an introverted extrovert (see the needing people around me...I'm just introverted myself). He believes that I am the opposite - that I am an extroverted introvert....hrm...

Either way. People person, yes - just quietly so :)

Yes indeed as I make effort to re-connect with friends and family from "my past" I find that blessings flow, peace of mind comes to a degree, and life is soooo much better than when I isolate. Thanks for sharing your thoughts today!

An interesting question, now that you mention it. A bit of research finds that it comes from Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor

Why, then the world's mine oyster,
Which I with sword will open.
