Howzabout submitting a script (or one-page whassitcalled/outline/synopsis) if'n you've already been working on something along these lines for a while?
Mine's different enough that it wouldn't really work as part of his series, but close enough that if I do it now it'll be instantly declared a knock-off.
But I have other (more viable) projects I should be focusing on anyway.
I think biofuel is becoming kind of thing that hydrogen used to be: A nice, comfortably distant alternative that needs more development before it can threaten the status quo. Stories like this tend to reinforce the idea that the only viable option is to keep going with conventional gas.
I like to grumble to electric-car enthusiasts, that even if everyone goes electric, we're still stuck in individual metal boxes-on-wheels.
It's going to take a pretty big crisis to get the US out of its cars, and joining the rest of the civilized world with mass transit.
read an article in the L.A. Times where he said that it's mostly because the guys at Fox who scuttled Firefly are gone now and it's a whole new bunch of people now... So he's willing to give them a shot...

It sucks to be slow and not an insider sometimes.
