So, it's now LJ-less L's b-day. She came back from working on the new house quite late, utterly exhausted, thirsty, joking about champagne, so I opened up the bottle of VQ (my fave champagne) that I moved here from Sta Monica 6+ months back and we toasted all sorts of good stuff 'n' things. Meanwhile, plans've shifted. Since SoCal's currently burning w/no end in sight and high winds're expected to continue 'til sometime Wed night, we're NOT gonna drive down yonder starting later today after all. Quite frankly, I'm thrilled at the prospect of NOT enduring another soul-grinding road trip to the nether regions, even though I don't get to see folks down yonder (yet again), which saddens me. Sleep...soon.

Awww, sorry. Even though the fires are not in my parents' area I think I'll call them. Bob too. I think they are in his and Timmy's area.
