Walking & Eating
Aug. 24th, 2007 10:30 pmThis is how the 'rents wanna spend their time here. Sounds just fine to me. Today we walked - quite roundaboutly - up to and through Mt Tabor Park (and back). Afterwards I made Pasta Puttanesca and a nice spinach salad (w/tomatoes from the starter plant provided by
sidhefire and fresh oregano from my kitchen garden) which we topped off with fresh blueberries and the last scoops of the Butter Pecan ice cream made last w'end.
O'morrow: Columbia River Gorge (walkies w/waterfalls), picnic hunk* lunch, and an early dinner most likely at Tad's Chicken 'n Dumplins.
Sunday's likely to include some combo of the following (w/another picnic hunk lunch): the Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden, and/or the Hoyt Arboretum followed by dinner at Papa Haydn's.
Monday'll be spent (I imagine) w/them packing then us all heading to PDX for their return to the Bay Area. We'll prolly leave 'round 11:45pm so I should be home again by 12:30pm.
Now: sleep.
* hunk lunch = hunk o' bread, hunk o' cheese, hunk-type fruits (apples most likely), mustard, whatever veggies're around...
