mlerulesJust got an e-mail from Kenny, who's back in Japan...finally (arriving today on his b-day). He's spent 7-8 years of the past 11 living there, has been aching to get back, and has now up and done it! Wish I were there, too...'twould be nice to go w/someone to show me 'round. Hmm, summer plans not yet fully in place. Hmm. Mebbe get in touch w/George, too, who heads over every couple of years to max out his credit card on anime & art and whatnot, as he has for the past decade plus. Possibilities abound. And the H-wood Bowl schedule's pretty good this summer. Must look into the free music stuff avail 'round town. It's summertime and the living is easy. Let's hear shouts of yay, whoo-hoo, whee, huzzah and other expressions of glee & joy! In space nobody can hear you scream...
Must pull back and refocus (o'morrow anyway - or rather later on this morning) on school sh!t for a bit. And mebbe work on my resume and look for a job, even though everyone (various friends who teach & acquaintances in my class who're more diligent - read actually trying - 'bout job searching) says there's squat available for elem school teachers. You're golden if'n you teach secondary math and/or science and/or have a Special Ed cred'l. I'm apparently merely a brass ring, ready to pull and toss into the clown's mouth.
But WHY isn't The Tick (animated) available on DVD? Instead I must rely on my ancient VHS tape (labeled provacatively Tick vol. 2 - keep hoping that vol. 1 will appear magically if'n I wait long 'nuff). We watched El Cid and Tick v. Tick tonight. GREAT STUFF!
