Emotional Contentment requires Emotional Connection, not necessarily Emotional Commitment.

Now: back to the attic for me...

I maintain that this is one of the best put concepts I've seen so far. I also agree with it.

What a sweet thing to say - thx. Glad it makes sense outside my own head, too. ;-)

But wait, if you have the connection, but not the commitment to make the connect, how can it equal contentment?

Methinks the commitment speaks more to the quality of lastingness, of valid future expectations. What I'm envisioning is f-ship which contains certain elements of commitment w/out promising that the deepness and "special" quality of emotion will "last forever." Commitment cannot really be measured 'til time (and/or other opportunities for providing evidence) has passed (or arrived and rendered proof).
