Time for a Break
Jul. 1st, 2007 03:25 pmI unpacked and put away eight (8) boxes in the attic office today. Well, put away is perhaps too generous a term. Books now fill a couple of the new bookshelves but the order is strictly by size. Beatrix Potter rubs elbows w/Marx. Dr Doolittle shares space w/Homer. More to do, much much more. But at least I took a stab at it and'm heading in the right direction. Sat down to read for a break but stopped after a few pages. Perhaps I should pick up something slightly lighter than J-P Sartre's Existentialism and Human Emotions for my break material.
Looking around, it seems as if what I have makes no particular sense. Once again archeology comes to mind: you can see (even if not necessarily trace) phases, interests, classes, periods, eras in the stuff. If you look hard enough will a pattern (or several) emerge? I really don't know. I'm not sure whether I care.
Feeling a tad restless. Is THIS my natural/basic state? I want to lose myself for a time. And so it goes...
