Quickie Recap

Delightful day. Started slowly, hanging w/the 'rents, polishing my boots, doing laundry, then headed up to SF. Lovely drive up the 280. Had tea in the Japanese Tea Garden. Wandered around, saw wonderful greenery and bloomingness (Australian stuff thinks it's summertime), and sat for a good long while in my fave spot in the Strybing (sp) arboretum. Skirted by the AIDS Mem'l Grove. Looked longingly and admiringly at the Conservatory. Had the car washed. Sipped refreshingly hot chai (damn it's cold up here!) at Ritual (trendy cafe on Valencia). Ate marvelous tapas at Esperpento. Caught up w/a friend (damn I enjoy chatting w/engineers). Saw a really good show at the Marsh. Drove home (e.g., back to the 'rents' casa in SJ). Must get up in 7.5 hours for a long full day of fambily-ness, w/time for a nap in the afternoon.

Still not sure whassup on Sunday. There's a Cajun band Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet playing that night at the Attic in Santa Cruz, but this sounds mildly insane...anyone else interested?

Um, wanna drive up, then? I can try to snag the house in Carmel so we (the 3 of us?) can meet there o'morrow afternoon and I can drive to and from the show. It's only 6-6.5 hours from Sta Monica (PCH - 101 - 68 - 1 OR 10 - 405 - 5 - 126 - 101 - 68 - 1). I'll be back in between events for a couple hours this afternoon and will call Mal 'n' Al then if'n you wanna try for this. Whee!

I really can't, but I'd like to. I'm helping Tom's mom move tomorrow, and I have to go to the folks' to get either my SS card or my passport because someone screwed up the payroll and I have been working for free for the past two weeks. Yeah, I know, I am soooo charitable.

I *love* Beausoleil! I used to go see thim with my dad. It's a bloody shame it's Sunday night, 'casue that means I can't take Patch. But, since I'm not working Monday, I don't care if I'm dead on Monday. Let's do it!

I've snagged the house in the Carmel Highlands for Sunday night and'll be there even if'n you can't make it. If'n you can come along, bring either a sleeping bag or a set of Queen sheets - preferably flannel. No hot tub, but there IS a nice fireplace.
