Subtlety & Funkiness
Nov. 29th, 2006 07:40 amSoCal's not always known for its subtlety. Yet that's what the weather's like here. The cool has shifted to cold with a few relapses of mega-heat. Some trees have changed colors and begun losing leaves. The dark rolls in earlier. Most folks have forgotten how to drive. Took me a full HOUR to get to the 405 fwy last night. It should take 5-10 minutes.
Sorta nice today. I'm rolling in time. Finding/realizing that time's not as limited as space for me. I wanna put stuff away, only there's not enough room for it all. I appear to be living at max capacity such that any excess immediately piles up. Pitchfork time.
Interesting flicker off in the kitchen which I can just make out by leaning back in my chair at the 'puter: looks like shadows from dancing flames, but is really the sunlight filtered through a wind-blown tree outside. Last night's bonfire experience produced some neato effects. Ya' know how you can see all the motes of dust when a shaft of sunlight crosses a room? Well, 'twas like that with teensy tiny sparkly red and orange bits swirling 'round inside a black and grey vortex of smoke. Very mesmerizing and satisfying and happy-making. Still have three (3) boxes to burn.
Got windy last night, along w/mega-chilly. Viewages today'll likely be quite fine. Sorta wanna hike in the mountains today, 'cept I'll be beach-walking this afternoon and my throat's starting to feel a tad funky. Prescription: hot tea w/honey & lemon, Cold-Eaze, bundling up, taking it easy, reducing rubble piles 'round the place.
Meanwhile, after an abortive attempt to update new software the 'puter told me it wanted to update yet then had problems (unidentifiable) with, now it won't launch either YahooMessenger or Word, which means...well, not only am I IM-free, but I cannot get at or create any Word documents, which means: time for the full back-up I'd meant to do a few weeks back and even bought a stack o' burnable DVDs for not long ago. Guess that's just jumped to the top of my To Do list.

Date: 2006-11-29 06:17 pm (UTC)It took and hour and a half for the living room to heat from 65 to 70 this morning! *ugh* I will be programming it to start the heat earlier.
