Drive to D-land for the day/eve or drive to WA for a few. The latter's only 1088 miles away, most of that on Hwy 5, which actually gets pretty after the initial 450 or so miles of blah. Still, it's a solid 2-days of driving...and there're things on the calendar over the next few daze. So...

The doors unlocked... You know you are always welcome; though with the cost of gas, it actually might be cheaper to fly... Could pick you up at SeaTac any time after Monday evening.... And most days we'd have an extra car if you wanted to run around on your own during the day...

thx muchly much

When I travel, it usually comes down to how much time I'm spending in transit, vs how much time I get to spend where I'm going. If'n you're so beat by the time you get here, that you leave before you're caught up, then shucks, take the shorter trip.

I'd love to see you, though, you know that!

This rules applies more for serious distance travelling for me than local. I've no problem driving to San Diego or Santa Barbara 3-4 hours (R/T) for a short visit (a meal), in large part b'd the recovery time's not so great...and the journey's part of the pleasure. When it comes to a long-haul drive like a maniac rather than stop along the way to see neato things and stuff or just relax a bit, well, that's not so easy to recover from or as much fun along the way.
