Sparklies

Got up early(ish) for walkies this morning. Yeah yeah yeah, there's weather abrewin', but so far it's just lovely: bright, sunny, and all frost-sparkly outside. I took advantage of it and headed out for walkies.

Sunday morning's a grand time to be out and about. At first I was the ONLY person around, but then the other exercisers started strolling and/or running by, sometimes on their own, sometimes w/doggies. Three (3) segregated groups of birdies were enjoying the calm waters of the Mt Tabor reservoir (#6): Canada geese, Mallards, and sea gulls.

Now to shower, dress, then head out to brunch at Madison's w/the Sunday (late-)morning crew. :-)

Soup Glorious Soup

One of my goals for this new year (it's MY calendar, I'll have it start when I choose ;-) is to make more soup. I've done well so far. I've just had a bowl of numbly hot tasty goodness. ( What I Did, So I Can Find It Again )

Being Open

I'm open here. Whispering into a void more often than not these days though. I know what I'd like, but if'n I don't get it, I must make do without. Or search elsewhere for't. Or figure out another way of getting it.

Today was really good: morning walkies, trad'l brunch w/the usual suspects, running an errand efficiently - and w/free parking, good kittenhead love, making good soup from scratch and then making another batch of chicken stock for the freezer, cleaning up the kitchen before turning in for the night, finishing off season 3 of Dexter, chatting on the phone w/a love, pulling out the x-mas wrapping paper and wrapping up x-mas presents, nibbling on maple sugar candy w/torn wrapper from price-tag scraping-off incident, crossing stuff off the list, getting ready for a Toad Rip to the Bay Area to visit w/friends and fambily.

X-mas gifts and paper's spread about the Hive's living & dining rooms and I've got a smile on my face and a full heart. I lurv this time o' year and'm thrilled that I'll be celebrating the year's end and welcoming back the sun w/Dear Friends & fambily up her in the PacNW. Not everything's perfect - I want more/deeper/richer/closer connections and friends here in Portland as well as more involvement in things that matter to me locally - but things're quite good, nonetheless. Meanwhile, I'm making progress w/what I want more of here.
