Too Hot

It's been a really nice weekend in SoCal, other than the heat. Got to reconnect w/some Dear Friends, see and chat w/several other good folks at a party Sat night, enjoy a very silly and quite good play (A Wither's Tale), remember some of the really nice stuff 'bout SoCal (foliage), and drive down various freeways and streets w/memories flooding over me (in a really positive way :-)

Yesterday's various options ended up narrowing significantly when the car continued acting wonky. Battery checked out fine, so likely it's the starter motor (or something more significant along the Reasons It Won't Reliably Start line). So I zoomed back chez AJ earlier than I would've otherwise and missed out on visiting w/more folks, visiting the beach, &c.

I'm not dealing well w/the heat. Didn't get much sleep last night. Feeling like a lethargic slug. Today's tea at the Huntington Gardens will feature triple-digit heat. Methinks there might be more gallery visiting and art viewing and less wandering through the gardens, but we'll see what happens once we get there.

Another Marvelous Day at the Huntington

What a nice, lovely, fun, and very pretty visit to Huntington Gardens for tea & garden-wandering & art-viewing, as always. The record-breaking heat conspired w/several blocked garden pathways to add to higher than usual exhaustion levels, but we made it through (thank goodness for heavily AC'd galleries) and even the drive home in what could've been horrific rush hour traffic went swiftly and not badly at all.

SO glad we had a good group for the trad'l MLE's in SoCal so let's have tea at Huntington Gardens outing. 'Twas me, AJ, her new beau B, ebony_sphynx, and new-to-this-group-of-trad'l-tea-goers-but-certainly-welcome-to-join-us-again dritikol and executivegoth.

There will be photos, once I'm home again at the Hive and get some time to relax/recover some (not 'til later this week). Zooming Northward o'morrow afternoon, arriving just in time to scoot over to Charles fka Clinton Corners Cafe for the last ever Pagan Tuesday there (Pagan Jug Band plays a FREE show from 6:30-8:30pm).

Reality TV

So, last Fall, delerium3 put out the word that edwardmartiniii needed help w/a short film he was shooting. I had a free day, so went along to do what I could do. 'Twas not just a short-film shoot though. They were filming us making the movie as part of an on-going reality TV series called "Little People, Big World."

This evening the episode aired on TLC. Fascinating. I've now been on reality TV (even if'n just in mebbe 3 scenes, mostly showing my yellow jacketed back, although my face did appear briefly). I find this highly amusing. Somehow it seems fitting that I'm in SoCal now. ;-P
