Zooooom! Not taking my 'puter. Will have some/limited on-line access, so don't count on it for reaching me if'n you feel you've just gotta communicate. Best bet: cell phone msg. NOTE: My phone does NOT receive txt msgs from any phone w/AT&T service (iPhones or other AT&T less-fancy phones), although I can receive Multimedia txts from AT&T phones.

The weather's supposed to return w/another brief blast of the recent Summer past w/temps in the mid-upper 70s at times this weekend. Still, the past couple of days has featured the return of the heater blowing warm air in the wee hours. Or at least trying to do so. It doesn't always feel particularly warm. If'n the furnace is gonna give out this year, I hope it does so before it gets Really Cold. Something to add to the "bug landladies again about having looked at and/or dealt with" list...

Now time to take a hot shower, dress for PDX's cool morning but w/an eye out for SoCal's heat wave later today, finish last-minute packing, forage for b-fast, spend s'more quality time w/kittenheads, then go out and visit Dear Friends and fambily!

Imagine, if you will, this flight path: PDX - PHX - ONT - OAK - Boise. Gah! I only took the first couple of legs (PDX-PHX-ONT) today and 'twas confusing 'nuff. The organizational scheme appeared to be from relatively cool (mid-70s in PDX) to hotter than he!! (111 in PHX), to merely way too freakin' hot (99 in ONT), to still danged warm for the location and date (82 in OAK), then back to quite reasonable (75 in Boise).

Tired now, although it's still relatively early. Have been hydrating like mad to make up for all the time on the plane this afternoon. 'Twas a really lovely flight out through and around AZ and what must've been UT, b'c I cannot think of another big-@ss inland body of water other than the Great Salt Lake. Hmm, mebbe the Salton Sea (or is that dry). Too zonkered to research it now. Could've used a good geologist sitting next to me to explain all the really cool stuff I saw out the window. (It was very clear out today.)

Luckily it's cooling off nicely now. Windows're open and fans're blowing and coyotes're howling. Starting to drive up into the hills to AJ's I got to see lots of something I do miss 'bout SoCal: luscious tropical-ish plants such as bougeanvillea (sp), oleander, hibiscus, silk floss trees, &c. Well, I'll get my fill this weekend and have the memories to tide me over 'til Jan 2011, when I'll most likely return to SoCal for MEF Yule, the Troubie's holiday show, and to visit w/more Dear Friends and fambily.

Sleepy-bye time now...
