ORANGE! and Zoom!

Had a great time yesterday hanging out while folks learned to and practiced spinning poi. Who knew that the muscle memory from learning Florentine flogging would work so well when transferred to this activity? LJ-less M cooked up some fab Copper River salmon (topped w/olive oil, sliced lemon, garlic, and onion, wrapped in foil, then cooked slowly over the grill). Mmmm. Last night's fire spinning by K & s00j aka Fire & Strings (lite) was AWESOME. I somehow ended up as Fire Safety so got to put out flaming staffs and poi, but luckily had no need to shout "ORANGE!" and deal w/fire on flesh, foliage, or clothing. Pics to come.

Anyway, I've got to zoom around here now taking care of stuff 'n' things b'c plans've shifted and I'm flying to AZ tomorrow morning so I can help LJ-less L drive back in time to sign paperwork to finish up the house-buying process. Back by sometime Thursday.

Foreshadowing?

Perhaps the recent PDX-SEA traffic nonsense has been prepping me for this last-minute PHX-PDX road trip. The usual pre-road trip perusal of Caltrans Hwy Info led to the discovery that the 10-5 transition'll be CLOSED (albeit w/a detour available) starting just about exactly when we'll be hitting it o'morrow night (9pm). *sigh* Usually I do the SoCal-PDX run in two (2) days. Well, we're doing PHX-PDX (SoCal-PDX plus an extra 6 hours (or so)) in just 1.5 days. At least it's not solo...

EDIT: Caffeine shall be the drug of choice for the next 72 hours.
