Steroids Talking

Laying in bed last night, feeling marvelously mellow and thrilled and joyful and happy and pleasantly pleased to be alive, it dawned on me: I'm on steroids and this is what they DO to me. But I'm gonna take these feelings, capture 'em, bottle 'em up, REMEMBER 'em as being something I can/do feel, as something I believe and am, and then when (as will happen) things ain't feeling quite so hot, I'll pull 'em out, dredge 'em up, remember 'em, know there's a place to which I can return, where I'm at peace, calm, serene, happy to be me. Good sh!t. 'Cause they're real and they're mine, even if the particular spin's helped 'long by special meds. In fact, perhaps it's precisely the Spin that's so wonderful: the frame of mind: the filter through which the perceptions and thoughts 'bout 'em flow: the how I deal with, analyze (not so much actually), FEEL 'bout how I'm feeling that's helping prolong the wonderfulness that is my life and those around me (far and wide).

Thank GOODNESS the b-day card I sent to my dad arrived yesterday (Mon) despite not going out on Fri (fed'l holiday), so my forgetting to call him on Sun (actual b-day) (BAD ME - and I'm usually SO good 'bout this sorta thing), along w/my pleading illness and lameness in last night's oops-happy-day-late e-mail, made it much better. Phew!

Home Decor w/Cats, Pt Deux

Hit IKEA for the 2nd time in as many days, today visiting the Burbank edition w/the delightful deviantgrrrl. We lunched and crossed many items off our respective To Do lists. I now have what I need in the way of blinds, curtain rods & finnials (sp) - and even picked up a couple of couch pillows in the bee pattern. And now I've started taking off the olde blinds - yes, I'm mildly self-sufficent, damnit - but amn't quite sure I have what's req'd to put up the new ones, so I'm stopping for now and rooting 'round through my various tool kits and l'il containers of fasteners trying to decide what'll suffice and/or be really good. Beforehand, I opened up the blinds to see how they worked and figure out how (best) to hang 'em, at which point Havana and Fargo got QUITE excited at the prospect of "helping." Have decided they must be unceremoniously removed from the scene of the crime - sorry kitten-heads - when I actually get around to putting UP the blindages.

Found: Disk 4 of Firefly!

Huzzah! Was moving stuff around on the TOP of one of the tall bookcases and voila: the long-missing DVD. Yep, I rarely LOSE stuff, just misplace things in the oddest of places for sometimes long stretches of time.
