Closest book to me has only a title page to a new section on p. 123 (Optimism: An Essay - 1903). The 5th sentence on p. 127, when text begins again is as follows:
"It it curious to observe what different ideals of happiness people cherish, and in what singular places they look for this well-spring of their life."
