Had already decided last night that I needed to take it easy (okay, easIER) today. Now it's RAINING (w/thunder!) which makes the decision that much easier to abide by. Went out last night to return "Fight Club" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" - intense sh!t - and came back w/"Bound for Glory" and "Festival Express." Also came back w/damn good Med Food thx to the new (to this location) Cafe Dahab 'round the corner from the NuArt (and just down Sawtelle from CineFile and up a ways from noodle heaven (Ramen something) & Hurry Curry (not the Injun place) in micro-Tokyo). I won't be eating in ever, as it's also the Hookah Lounge, but the portions are mightily ample and it tastes GREAT. The garlic paste is better than at Zancou's (just a few blocks away). And the kitchen's open 'til 2AM! In other good food news, there's now a 24-hour rolled taco (and other Mexican foodstuffs) place a bit West of Fed'l on SM Blvd (several blocks W of RHPS on Sat nights): Benitos Tacos. Not great, but perfectly adequate. My 24-food destinations have increased recently and it pleases me greatly. Now I'm less likely to drive down to SD for rolled tacos on a whim since I can get 'em this locally. There's also one across the street from the New Beverly and/or Fairfax Laemmle and somewhere else I can't think of offhand. Now to brew the first of many cuppas and finish up Harry Potter 4. Thinking I may not make it ot the HP party next month just b'c the w'ends seem to have filled up so solidly.
Meanwhile, my heart goes out to all of you suffering, hoping, and in pain.
