Up the Mesa
Apr. 27th, 2019 06:26 pmSo, I made it back up to the top of the mesa. THIS is why I'm doing Weight Watchers and going to the gym. I want to regain the energy and physical ability to walk a long ways up a slope, then clamber and bushwack my way straight up the side of a hill (with a Dear Friend leading the way and warning me of hazards). (We opted for a different route along another road after discovering the rattlesnake. Ah, adrenaline...) AND I DID IT!
I'd not been to The Land for over a decade, for over a dozen years, actually, since before I moved here from Sta Monica in 2007. So many adventures there, so many huge experiences, life-altering conversations, good times shared, richness added to life. This time also featured super-bloom loveliness. Ahhhh...
Now'm back home in PDX, and feeling good. Loving the pale greenery of Spring, and the bright blossoms, and the warmish/coolish days and nights.
Could be out socializing this evening, but choose instead to stay in with a good book and a hot bath instead.
