Stuff & Things

Spent a good day chez
jaylake helping him go through the last of his boxes as part of the on-going planning for the end of his life stuff. Finding myself newly inspired to renew my own efforts to cull and organize my belongings, as well as lessen the inflow of new-to-me things 'n' stuff. Good day, even as 'twas a tough day, too. It's stuff that's gotta get done - and it felt good to take part in doing it, but it's darned tough having to do it now, while he can, before the newest (and likely last) chemo kicks in hard (today was first day of new treatment - all pills, no infusion) and/or the cancer does him in once 'n' for all.
Many hands made the work easier. Sharing stories, laughter, and numbly food together helped keep the mood generally positive, even as most of us took some time to break away for sadness/tear-breaks now 'n' again.
Meanwhile, I urge you all to go hug the one(s) you love, show 'em - and tell 'em - you love 'em, because you really just don't know how much time you've got. I'm going out on the back deck now to enjoy the bit of sunshine's that's started streaming in beneath the cloud-cover. Life is good when we remember it's so and take advantage of the good bits...
EDIT: I went out and found it sprinkling, so headed to the front of the Hive...just in time for a lovely rainbow... :-)
