Took KL out for a belated (day after) b-day sushi outing at the Berkeley Rose Gardens yesterday. Lovely warm day. Snagged Mom this AM and took her out for an early Mom's Day brunch at Samovar. Made good time and found great free parking easily (yes, in SF!), so got to walk all around Yerba Buena Gardens & thereabouts beforehand. Darned numbly chow 'n' tea, as always. Really nice fitting in good visiting w/Mom this trip (3 separate chunks o' time together).

Enjoyed a lovely, mellow drive up Hwy 101 today from SF - Eureka. It's been YEARS since I drove this route. (Have gone mostly coastal recently, when I've skipped Hwy 5.) OMG the redwoods smell so good, and look so good, and feel so good. Heavenly. Stopped off for the night w/a friend who I've not seen in person for several years, although we keep in touch via postcard (yes, honest-to-goodness snail-mail postcards). We went out for Mexican food, and now I'm ensconced in the ManCave for the night. Very pleasant.

That was eerie. You posted that pix of the church and it's only a few blocks from where I used to work. Was overcome with this sense of, "Oh. Home."

I guess San Francisco isn't that easy to get out of the system. :)

Great as always! And SO very nice to sit outside in April in SF.
