Highlights of Past Week

ladydrakaina last weekend for relaxation, conversation, hanging out, watching the tide ebb 'n' flow, cooking 'n' eating good chow, reading, playing board 'n' card games, blowing bubbles, shooting off fireworks on the beach, sitting around the fire, sampling s'mores, and just having a fine ole time. Way too many photos appear here beneath the link.
Experienced a bit of a life/heart-shift upon my return, but I seem to have weathered it just fine. In fact, I managed to shift something (attitude/POV/whatEVER) over the past few days so've put to rest a couple of others emotional things that'd been bugging me...and'm thrilled they're no longer troublesome.
Headed out to Petting Zoo the morning of the 4th to crew w/the Weed-Be-Goners. We came, we saw, we conquered weeds and returned the garden to a more readily useable state. Proof, as per usual, in pictures (previously x-posted to FB, FYI).
I left mid-day (and I hear they got lots more done that final hour after I left), as I had further activities to attend to, mainly a lovely smoke-out (BBQ w/smoked meats) chez J&T. There were lots of other foodstuffs as well, including my trad'l Red, White & Blue fruit salad (watermelon & strawberries, bananas, blueberries), whichthe_child was kind enough to make under my supervision. (Pics on FB.) Good company and good food = good times!
Yesterday,delerium3 & I continued our Waterfall Wanderlust ("WW") adventures. We hiked the Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Falls Loop, bagging #4 Wiesendanger Falls & #5 Fairy Falls for WW, along w/a whole mess of other fab falls as a bonus, including Multnomah and Wahkeena.
'Twas 5+ miles w/1500+' elevation gain. PHEW! Proud to have done it. Need and want to get in still better condition, but'm thrilled to've done this and'm on my way back into decent shape. Snapped some decent pics, too (along w/a mess of others ;-)
This evening, I walked over and enjoyed the FREE First Friday Wendy & the Lost Boys shows at the Hawthorne Theater Lounge. Afterwards, a few of us who'd seen the show dined at Por Que No?!, also close-by the Hive.
SO glad to be increasing my local socializing. It's so nice to meet and hang out w/good local people; I'm so glad to make new friends who live nearby. Will also get to spend some time Sunday afternoon w/a Dear Friend from SoCal. Now though, sleep beckons. Since I've opened all the windows and've been blasting air via fans, I should be able to fall asleep now/soon. Ah, yes, now I remember: Summertime in the PacNW starts on July 5th.
