Attacking the Attic

Today I returned to the on-going battle w/the clutter in the attic. I really Really REALLY hate doing this (which should be clear as I moved in over 5 years ago yet still have sh!t to go through), even as I really (x3) like having done it now. I've helped others deal w/their carp successfully, but doing it for myself is a real b!tch. Anyway, with numerous breaks for tea 'n' fiction on the back porch (as weather allowed and need dictated), I managed to get a lot done. Huz-freakin'-zah!

Accomplishments included: filling a 30-gallon trashbag full of stuff for GoodWill, dumping a mess of recylclbes (and apparently forgetting how to spell in the process ;-), organizing papers (possibly to chuck/pass along later on down the line), making a pile of stuff to shred then recycle, consolidating buttons, ditto keys, hauling empty boxes (YAY!) down to the basement, &c.

I well and truly dislike doing this, although I am thrilled to have done it. It's a serious weight off my mind/shoulders. Still have more to do, but having attacked it - and quelling chunks - feels so good.

Yay you!! I so unnnerstand how very challenging that activity is - thus speaks the woman who still has many boxes of stuff from moving in to Acorn Cottage six years ago...

Yay, yay, yay! I'm awful about sorting through boxes of stuff. Papers, especially. And all my papers tend to end up in boxes. So I am especially impressed with your productive day. :)
