I had a housemate once, yonks back, who was taking an intensive course in Latin at UCB (one full year condensed into 10 weeks over the summer) b'c 'twas needed for a job he'd been offered. Part-way through the class, he learned that the job had fallen through, but he still went ahead and finished the course anyway.

I'm now half-way through my 6 Days of EM-ness, having walked 3 labyrinths over the past 3 days. I'll still go ahead and do the entire course, walking 6 labyrinths in 6 days, even though the initial rationale behind the Magic Number 6 has disappeared (due to weather concerns, apparently). Still gonna do it, b'c it's for ME, not for anybody else. (Besides, I've long had a fond feeling for the number 6:
