It's prolly too far for me to go, what w/impending fambily descending on the Hive for the holidays, but the Candlelight Labyrinth on Tuesday, 20 December 2011 (7-9pm) at Woodinville, WA's Unitarian Universalist Church sounds like a great time and place to spend an evening in quiet, candlelit meditation walking the labyrinth.

In addition, the Winter Solstice is 22 Dec 2011 at 5:30am. That's way early. Let's get a head start at 6pm on Wed, 21 December 2012! For the past several years now, some of us have followed the tradition of singing "Here Come the Sun" to mark the Winter Solstice and encourage the sun to return. Well, for the past several years (since 2007), we've done this as a community sing-a-long - and every year the days get longer once again afterward (at least for 6 months, which appears to be the staying power of the ritual ;-) It doesn't matter where you are - solo or w/a group - join in and welcome back the sun via this SING-A-LONG! Here's video of the song w/lyrics. If'n you don't have/want access to a computer then, here're just the lyrics for printing ahead of time.

What a fun idea! The solstice is my birfday, and with luck I will be spending it with Gryphon, maybe I can convince him to do this too!
