So, in a fit of chucking stuff I hadn't used in years this past year, I got rid of stuff that actually would've come in incredibly handy this year, right around now (x-mas tree ornaments 'n' lights 'n' stand), since as things've transpired I'm hosting the holidays for my immediate fambily this year. I'm also bewildered as to where my Hanukkah cards have gone to, as I know I had a few and could've sworn they were w/the x-mas cards, but I've now rooted through the bag of holiday crud and cannot find 'em anywhere.

Still, it's am amazingly lovely day out - sunny but COLD - so I'm pleased 'nuff, even if'n I'm gonna have to shift 'n' shuffle to do what I want (decorate) w/what's easiest to procure. Methinks I'll revert to simply stringing cranberries 'n' popcorn for the tree again this year. I quite like this tradition, actually. We did it at CopperMoon last year, just like my l'il bro & I did it decades back when we badgered Dad into getting us a x-mas tree (he's Jewish(ish;-)) when we spent x-mas w/him in Princeton.

I have put up the wreathe of chili pepper lights that LJ-free L brought back from AZ last year, though, so the porch's starting to look nicely (if mildly anachronistically ;-) seasonal.

If you can, try to keep this in perspective- for everything you get rid of and then wish you hadn't, how many times have you been unable to find something that you know you have, just don't know where?

Like you I've had a few regrets after getting rid of stuff. But I want/need to get rid of more. If I need it again, I can probably reacquire it.

So very true, b-day boy. Much of my head-smacking 'n' d'ohness is that there's still lotsa stuff I cannot put my hands on if/when I need it, so I'm clearly still hanging onto way too much crap and/or I really need to organize my sh!t (which I know to be true). Good news though, the folding camp table I'd bemoaned losing track of last Spring appeared whilst tearing apart the basement looking for the x-mas stuff - and I hadn't replaced it (fully/exactly) yet, so that's pleasing.

Hope you have a very good b-day! *HUGS&LOVES*
