Forgot my black overshirt at the Stanford art museum yesterday so went back w/Mom to retrieve it today. Wandered around more of the galleries, had a nice lunch at the cafe, found the Andy Goldworthy thingie (Stone River constructed of stones of bits of Stanford that had come down in the 1906 & 1989 earthquakes), then drove around and saw our olde haunts (house, school, neighborhoods) from when I was in 9th grade and we lived in Palo Alto. Amazing and nice how you can still learn more about and hear new stories from someone you've known your entire life. Ended up taking a good long walk out at a birdie & watery park on the fringes of San Jose (nr Alviso - olde port area which mattered more pre-RR). Ate dinner at Picasso's (numbly tapas place) in downtown SJ then wandered around, finding more places to check out another time.

O'morrow I drive home. And then...and then. Thinking of heading further Northward on Sun or Mon or perhaps Wed, this time flying to OR & then driving to WA. Will return on Sun (most likely), then head to Big Bear for M - Sun.

I do like Summertime!
