RPG'ers May Want To Watch This. And Part Two, Too.

In other news, it's gonna be Stupid Hot again today, hotter than yesterday, but not as hot as o'morrow & Wed's upswings into triple-digit nonsense. Yeah, I lived in SoCal for over 20 years, but I opted to reside on the Westside, the last dozen years a mere 13 blocks from the Pacific Ocean, so I rarely had to deal w/this. Luckily it cools off at night at least somewhat so I'm now sucking all the cool air into the house before entombing it for the day. Hmm, I'm thinking an afternoon matinee ($3 - 1pm) of A Night At The Museum: Smithsonian might be in order.

Been a while since I divided up the morning into 9-minute segments (e.g., used the snooze alarm), since I listened to the morning traffic report (horrid for a Saturday - or is it always this bad - overturned trucks closing all lanes of the 60, to name but one incident), since I headed Northward to L-poc for the w'end. Used to make it up yonder 'bout once a month or so. Schedules fill up, focus shifts, life happens. Glad to go. I think. This w'end has been a tradition for a long long time ('bout a decade), but I haven't been a part of it for quite a while ('bout half that time). Why? Seismic shifts in social circles...interests wandering off/about...don't rightly know. But my presence was championed and go I shall. 'Sonly for today and part of o'morrow. Contact's good. Hopefully I'm not putting my foot into it. Social dynamics alter when more bodies (and minds) appear. All like me (as far as I know), so hopefully it'll be for the good. Prolly SO, given the clientele - and given that I was asked to join in quite forcefully by a couple of folks (even if not by the hostess herself).

Okay, no worries, no regrets...'til later - and then only if'n based on something real and actual, not imagined or merely potential. Hell, I get to see a few of my fave folks...should be thrilled. Will feel more so when less exhausted. Will prolly get to share driving which'll help matters.

Namely: my dice. It's been quite some time since I've needed 'em for anything, so they'd wandered off to (one of) the Not Needed pile(s). Turns out I AM going outta town this w'end. It's been AGES since I played D&D. Should be interesting. Just like olde tymes. Yet another social sitch w/ex-hubby & ex-b-friend. Am considering bringing along tequila to ease...something...whatEVER.

Watched "Serenity" this aft/eve after roaming 'round town running errands. Still laugh. Still cry.

Have decided to renew my D-land passport, although not at the top level this time 'round. I foresee many more visits to the Mouse House in 2006. Perhaps including this Monday.
