Where's the Birch?! aka The Search for Birch

delerium3 & I hiked another approx 5 miles today, although only 3.12 miles count towards the Forest Park All Trails Challenge total, as we did some backtracking and re-hiking of segments. Pics of ATC hike #7 are here.

I'm SO happy that delerium3 suggested we do this, as it's helping me get stronger and fitter and it's great hiking through gorgeous Forest Park on a semi-regular basis. A couple months back I don't think I could've done what we did today, namely a single-car loop trail, where a chunk o' the initial trail (Holman Lane) was fairly solidly uphill. And we kept on hiking even after that, clearing out some drips 'n' drabs of tiny trails 'n' connectors and now having an entire map section completed, which makes us both very happy 'n' pleased.

More to come on Friday, when lightfoote will join us once again as we tackle another chunk o' miles 'n' trails. We're already over 1/3 of the way through (28.81 miles completed of 80.97 total - not counting backtracking/rehiking). Zoom!

Oh, and if you get a chance, please ask lightfoote if he has any pole/walking stick recommendations. I'm having a hell of a time finding one tall enough for me, and he's taller still, so maybe...
