Squalls 'n' Momos

mlerules'Twas a really good quickie jaunt to Olympic National Park for the long-awaited 'n' weather-be-damned we're going THIS weekend anyway Lake Ozette recon scouting mission w/![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lightfoote. The weather wasn't ideal, but 'twasn't too bad, either. Main thing it did was motivate us to scurry from Swan Bay to Erickson's Bay and back again after a quickie walk-through of the campground at the latter location rather than spend a more leisurely time hanging out on the beach and perhaps finding and following the ocean trail. We'll do that when we return for a longer canoe 'n' camping trip in July.
Yesterday morning's soak at Sol Duc Hot Springs helped the recovery from the 7.2 mile quick canoodle quite nicely.

Got back from Olympic Nat'l Park last night. Stayed up late-ish chatting w/LJ-less L, then got up this morning to deneedlejaylake. That went quite smoothly, once we got around to doing it. But as sometimes happens, one thing led to another, and Elizabeth (primary caretaker for chemo session #2) and I and the_child ended up making momos under the direction of jaylake. Mmmm yum. Slight hiccup w/quantities, so we ended up w/excess dough. Simple solution (courtesy of E's experience 'n' training w/her grandma): we allowed it to rise again, then turned it into donuts which we then rolled in sugar 'n' cinnamon for uber-numbly goodness. MMMMmmmm, savory & sweet...
And now, now I'm sleepy-headed so'll go pumpkin soon.
