Gorgeous Day

Well, they said it'd be snowing like mad by Noon today (100% chance of precipitation forecast). Um, yeah...whatEVER. It rained, briefly, a while back, but has once again gotten nice 'n' sunny and quite lovely out. Over on the other side of the Willamette River and up the hill (to grandma's house...no, wait, that's different) though, that was a different story altogether.
On the way to a really cool Print Exhibit up at OCAC w/LJ-free L this afternoon, we climbed Sylvan Hill (I believe it's called) up Burnside towards B-ton as the temp sank 9 degrees (to freezing) and the serious weather kicked in mightily. Serious snow blew straight at the windshield, lovely huge flakes aka small snowballs splattered all over 'n' around. Luckily it didn't last horribly long, and only stuck on part of the route (mostly all over the cemetery along the way), so the drive back afterward wasn't too scary.
Afterward we coffee'd 'n' snackereled at Ford Food & Drink, located in the former showroom attached to Portland's former Ford assembly plant whereyou could buy a car, watch your car being built, then drive it home. Talk about "factory fresh!" I do so like living in a town w/history.
Yesterday's mini-adventures w/LJ-free H included a quickie tour of the gorgeous Columbia Gorge near the end of the day when the sun began shining in the space between the clouds and the horizon, walking down to Latourelle Falls and driving past a couple other big (and numerous tiny) waterfalls, then hitting Cafe Magnolia for the trad'l Tuesday Pagan Jug Band show and finally staying up way late talking of this and that and t'other.
