A Good Day

Feeling better 'n' better each day now. Got out and about today, introducing [livejournal.com profile] poeticlioness to Petite Provence, driving deep into the depths of Gresham, trading shuttle-service for tech-advice, procuring & setting up a replacement CD-player for the ancient one I'd had which'd developed the distressing habit of opening its shelf/door whenever a CD finished (rather than shifting to the next in the selection). Best bit: this new "CD player" also happens to play Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. Snagged a few of the former (B-ray) for dirt-cheap at Costco as well, so've now entered the 21st century, tech-wise. (The Luddites're frowning at me ;-)

Eventually, Sapphire Hotel's Sapphire Burger beckoned, so I walked over yonder for din-din. I so enjoy having such a nice local place to frequent. One of the owner's bought me a drink and gave me a sample of another I'd asked about. Got to chat w/various of the staff 'bout recent trips, &c.

Sleep's on the horizon. First though, more Small Gods. O'morrow's for packing for the upcoming long weekend away (CuMoon & we3 at 3 (celebrating our 3rd anniversary) at the beach & our polycule-wide STD-testing visit as per V-Day tradition...DON'T give the gift that goes on giving ;-).

I love it!

I love that ya'll get tested together. Jim and I space ours a few months apart so one of us is tested every 3 months because we test every 6 months. :-)

Enjoy your weekend away!

I need to go do the routine STI-testing thing Soon. Work scheduling issues keep making it tricky to find a time, but doing it for Valentine's Day seems apropos.

Am currently in the middle of getting testing done, which is complicated by my sketchy OHP plan. Trying to figure out what they do and do not cover, and how best to fill in the gaps is being frustrating. I'd not even thought of it in connection with Valentines Day, but will certainly do that in the future (good memory anchor) and how much more loving than oh, say, roses and chocolates...

Glad that it sounds like you are finally starting to feel better - have a great weekend!

Way back when I saw (but sadly did not purchase) a V-Day card that read "Don't Give The Gift That Keeps On Giving." It just seems uber-appropriate. Best wishes finding a good place to go for testing. Seattle's Harbor View's got a good system (sliding scale 'pending on whatcha can afford), but I don't know 'bout locally (other than Planned Parenthood).

Yes - thx, first night w/out Claritin-D in a while. Some stuff's still flowing, but not nearly as copiously as previously. I'll be all better soon (goshdarnit!) and then we'll cash in our get-together goo-check! :-)

I remember Harborview from my Seattle days - they were both sensible and kindly, as well as sliding scale. Planned Parenthood, here in Portland at least, and just FYI, is only offering health care to women of childbearing age - I'd gone there to see about getting a well woman checkup, and they asked me when my last period was... When I told them that was no longer an issue, they told me that they had no help to offer me as far as ANY kind of care at all, and were actually rather snippy with me. I was surprised and disappointed. I now am on the Oregon Health Plan, and will be seeing what if anything they cover

GAH re: OR PP on that. I'm not quite at that stage yet, although I've gone 9 months w/out bleeding fairly recently. Hopefully OHP will cover some basics.
