Endings & Beginnings / Ebbs & Flows

Fall 2010 has come to an end. I've e-mailed my final Volkswalking Log to my PCC professor (in lieu of a final exam), so my semester has now officially ended. As per tradition, I've blasted I'm Free by The Who. Ah, tradition...
Another tradition I follow (at least now and again) involves coming up w/a theme for the upcoming year (or whatever long-ish chunk o' time it ends up being). One of my last declarations along such lines, over a half-year ago, resulted in a phrase and goal that I will continue using and following: BAPAMAP: to Be At Peace As Much As Possible.
Along w/BAPAMAP, I have several other Life Mottos which I periodically repeat and re-ponder:
(1) Nothing Lasts Forever. Ayup - this still stands, along w/its corollary: Change Is The Only Constant.
(2) Turnabout Is Fair Play. Hmm, realizing that nowadays I prefer thinking 'bout this sorta thing as: Mutuality Matters.
(3) I think I've forgotten one...so'll eventually go search for't and edit this once I find it.
(4) Curious, But Not Committed. Okay. This one I'm ready to chuck. I don't know what exactly I'm committed/committing to, but something along the lines of Adventure & Self-Growth & Awareness. One of my fave quotes comes to mind: "The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware." -- Henry Miller
Mebbe I'll toss out "C, But Not C" and replace it w/Increasing Awareness Without Overanalyzing the Fark Outta Everything. Heh. Okay, that's a tad unwieldy. Yet it does get across my goal of balancing the Thinkie-Thoughting process w/letting my intuitive-side out to roam free and run around more (w/out getting all caught up in why or how or other qx).
Something something something involving the idea of Going With The Flow more and getting bogged down (and/or spinning) less. Noticing that the wind's blowing like mad outside right now. Images running/floating/spinning through my mind include:
- a rock in a river (islands in streams)
- Playing Pooh Sticks (being the stick)
- the reed that bends in the wind w/out breaking
Gonna end this here now (as I listen to Del Amitri's Here & Now w/its sweet couplet "But you can't change later / Here and now just how good we can feel")...
